Punarnava Skill Development Centre
– for Social Impact –
Punarnava Ayurveda Trust operates in the underprivileged villages of Coimbatore’s Thirumalayampalayam Panchayat, where many families live below the poverty line. To address the lack of opportunities for rural youth, particularly young girls who often marry early due to financial constraints, the trust proposes establishing a Skill Development Centre. This initiative aims to empower girls and boys from disadvantaged backgrounds by equipping them with professional skills in Ayurveda Therapy. The students will also be trained in back office work, if they are interested in that.
The program includes a six-month intensive training course followed by a six-month internship at Vaidyagrama Ayurveda Hospital, ensuring practical experience and holistic learning. The course guarantees 100% job placement, enabling participants to secure employment and uplift their families within a year. While the program prioritizes girls to address the pressing need for their empowerment, it remains inclusive of boys. This initiative reflects the trust’s commitment to breaking the cycle of poverty and creating sustainable livelihoods for rural communities.

At Punarnava Ayurveda Trust, we believe in the profound words of Mahatma Gandhi:
“The future of India lies in its villages.”
With 65% of India’s population residing in rural areas (World Bank, 2020), it is our collective responsibility to uplift underprivileged communities that remain disconnected from urban progress. Rural children, especially girls, face limited access to higher education due to financial constraints and lack of proximity to colleges, often resulting in early marriages. Additionally, homemakers and elderly women in villages lack opportunities for skill development and income generation.
To address these challenges, the Punarnava Skill Development Centre aims to create a sustainable ecosystem for rural empowerment in Thirumalayampalayam, Pichanur, and Ettimadai panchayats.
This initiative will:
