Ayurveda Medical Clinic Camps
“God gave you two hands one belongs to
you and the other to your fellow man.”

Regular and free Ayurveda medical clinic camps are conducted in Rottigoundanur village once a month. These clinics offer medical & health checkups for nearby villages in the area. Patients are transported from nearby villages to the clinic by Trust volunteers in rented vehicles.
Punarnava Trust also arranges for poor villagers to have free outpatient treatments at the Vaidyagrama Healing Village.
Over the course of 4 years, 50 free Ayurveda Medical clinic camps have been held in Rottigoundanur and other areas in the vicinity of Vaidyagrama in Thirumalayampalayam Panchayat.
In order to support the villagers to get daily medical care we startet an Ayuveda Outpatient Clinic at Rottigoundanur village.
Eye Cataract and Diabetic Screening
“One of the most important things you can do on this
earth is to let people know they are not alone”
– Shannon L. Alder
The interior villages of Coimbatore lack medical facilities and transport facilities which prevent older citizens from getting cataract surgeries. These patients have limited means of income and are often unable to receive the care and medical attention they need for a healthy standard of living.
In collaboration with Aravind Eye Hospital, Punarnava Trust conducts ‘eye clinics’ along with diabetes- screening clinics in different villages in interior Coimbatore.
Eye clinics are held twice a year in the Panchayat to provide cataract surgery for senior citizens. These clinics also offer glasses and corrective eyewear for people from low-income groups and for the general public at subsidized costs.
The first clinic was held in 2013.
As of 2016, 150 cataract surgeries have been conducted and nearly 210 patients were given corrective eyewear.
2017: 150 surgeries
2018: 60 surgeries
2019: 50 surgeries
